  • Reginald Garrett is Professor Emeritus of Biology at the University of Virginia. He has taught biochemistry at UVA for more than 40 years.
  • Charles Grisham is Professor of Chemistry at the University of Virginia and has taught chemistry and biochemistry at UVA for more than 40 years.
  • Yitna Firdyiwek is Senior Instructional Designer for A&S Learning Design & Technology at the University of Virginia.  He is the developer of the PSAFE Archive site of student work and the PSAFE Online course site.
  • Elizabeth Magnotti was the first PSAFE TA in 2010.  She received her B.S. in Chemistry in 2011, and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Emory University in 2016, and is presently doing cancer immunology research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA.
  • Amanda Mullen was the PSAFE TA in 2011.  She received her B.S. degree in Chemistry in 2012 and her M.D. degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in 2018.  She is currently a family practice physician in Pueblo, Colorado.
  • Erna Kukic was the PSAFE TA in 2012.  She received her B.S. degree in Chemistry in 2013 and a Pharmacy degree from the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC.
  • Sarah Smith Wheeler was the PSAFE TA in 2013.  She received the B.S. degree in Chemistry and Biology in May 2014, and a Pharm.D. at the Ohio State University in 2018. She is a PGY1 Pharmacy Resident at the Cleveland Clinic Akron General.
  • Catherine Labgold was the PSAFE TA in 2014.  She received her B.A. degree in Archaeology and Chemistry in May of 2015 and a Master's degree in global health at the University of Virginia.  She is pursuing a Ph.D. in public health at Emory University in Atlanta.
  • Julia Moy was the PSAFE TA in 2015.  She received her B.A. in Chemistry in May of 2016 and a Master’s degree in Nursing in 2018 from the University of Virginia.
  • Limor Steinberg was the PSAFE TA in 2016.  She received her B.S. in Chemistry in May of 2017 and plans to pursue a doctorate in Polymer Chemistry, focusing on the development of sustainable biomaterials. 
  • Rosalie Sleppy was the PSAFE TA for 2017.  She received a B.S. in Chemistry from UVa in May 2018 and hopes to attend medical school.
  • Anna Carey was the PSAFE TA for 2018.  She received a B.S. in Chemistry with a Specialization in Biochemistry from UVa in May 2020 and hopes to attend graduate school.
  • Tina Chai is the PSAFE TA for 2019. She received a B.S. in Biochemistry and a B.A. in English from the University of Virginia in May 2020.
  • Claire Haynes was the PSAFE TA in 2020. She will be receiving a B.S. in Biology in May of 2021 and hopes to attend medical school in Fall 2021.
  • Katharine Cunningham was the PSAFE TA for 2021. She obtained her B.Sc. in Chemistry (specialization in Biochemistry), with a second major in Government (specialization in Political Theory) from UVA in 2022. She graduated with highest distinction in Chemistry for her research in Lung Injury and Transplant, and hopes to continue research in medical school.
  • Celeste Costa was the PSAFE TA for 2022.
  • Isabella Lee was a PSAFE TA for 2023. Obtained BS in Chemistry with a sp. in Biochemistry with highest distinction for research on Using H NMR to quantify biomaterial stability. Graduated in May of 2024.
  • Thomas Pridmore was a PSAFE TA for 2023. He obtained his B.S. in Chemistry and hopes to attend medical school in Fall of 2025.
  • Jolie Call developed an archive of the PSAFE projects in 2024. She received a B.S. in Chemistry with a Specialization in Biochemistry from UVA in May 2024 and plans to attend medical school.
  • Joshua Barbish was a PSAFE TA in 2024. He graduated from UVA in 2025 with a B.S. in Biology, and he hopes to continue to graduate school.
  • Danny Qiu was a PSAFE TA in 2024. He obtained his B.S. in Chemistry with a Specialization in Biochemistry from UVA in 2025 and plans to attend medical school.
